SMOKING AND PREGNANCY

Smoking during pregnancy has extremely negative effects on the baby and pregnancy.

In pregnant women who smoke during pregnancy;

  • preterm labor
  • Early discharge of amniotic fluid (premature rupture of membranes)
  • Growth retardation of the baby in the womb (intrauterine growth retardation)
  • Sudden death of the baby in the womb (intrauterine exitus)
  • Pregnancy poisoning (preeclampsia)
  • Hypertension
  • Prenatal separation of the placenta (abruptio placentae)
  • Having respiratory distress after birth (respiratory distress)
  • It embraces many negativities such as fatal respiratory distress (RDS) as a result of the failure of the lungs of babies born prematurely.
Pregnancy should always be seen as the beginning of motherhood. Motherhood always requires “sacrifices”. Acting with this awareness, you should never smoke during pregnancy or even be in smoking environments.
