EMBRYO SHAVING (ASSISTED HATCHING)

The membrane, which is present in the process of fertilization and embryo development starting from the egg formation and protecting the embryo until it attaches to the uterus wall, is called the zona pellucida. In some cases, studies have shown that by thinning or opening this membrane, the embryo leaves the membrane more easily and attaches to the uterine wall. The process is applied to embryos selected for transfer under the microscope and with the help of laser.

Situations where membrane thinning is required:

- Patient group over 38 years old

- Conditions where the embryo membrane is thick

- Frozen thawed embryos

- Situations where the membrane has a structural problem

- Patient group with previous failed attempts

- Patient group with high FSH level
